Scotland’s Football Archive is a Scottish Football Museum initiative supporting Alzheimer Scotland in their delivery of the Football Memories League project.
Alzheimer Scotland has a resource centre for the Football Memories League project at Scotland’s national football stadium. The Hampden Hub as it is known, is a comfortable environment where Football Memories League groups can meet and reminisce over memorabilia and images from their youth. The Hub forms a useful base for groups intending to visit the Museum and contains pictorial images of the project’s development.
The museum is based at Scotland’s National Stadium at Hampden and home to a remarkable range of football related objects. Separate collections tell the story of Scottish football, and there are regular new exhibitions to take in. The Hall Of Fame is also a permanent feature in the Scottish Football Museum to honour the truly great players, managers and officials who have reached the pinnacle of their profession and have made a significant contribution to Scotland’s football reputation. A visitor to the museum may also take a stadium tour and experience Hampden Park like the players do on a match day.
The Scottish Football Museum is rated in the top three percent of visitor attractions in Scotland having received the prestigious 5 Star award from Visit Scotland. The collections of the museum have been recognized as being nationally significant in the Scottish Government funded and Museums Galleries Scotland administered Recognition Scheme. With an exciting special exhibition programme and a number of outreach projects the museum continues to tell the important story of Scottish football in engaging and inspiring ways.
